Get Conversation Questions

Get is an important verb in English. You can use it in many situations.

These get conversation questions help student practice using it in speaking in the different situations.

  • What time do you get up on weekends?
  • What is the best gift you have ever gotten?
  • How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
  • What do you like to get when you go out for breakfast?
  • What is a subject in school that you didn't get?
  • What time do you get to school/work in the morning?
  • What did you get for your last birthday?
  • What things get you angry?
  • What do you get when you go to a coffee shop?
  • What do you do when you get tired at work/school?
  • Who is someone you know that always gets mad?
  • How long does it take you to get to work/school?
  • When did you get married? When do you want to get married?
  • What are the best ways to get a job?
  • Have you ever gotten caught for something?

Prepositions Conversation Questions

Prepositions can be challenging since they are so small and so common.

Worksheets and exercises are good, but what about using them in speaking?

Here are some preposition conversation questions to practice In, On, and At:
  • When were you born?
  • Do you know what time you were born?
  • When is your birthday?
  • What city do you live in?
  • What time do you wake up during the week?
  • What time do you wake up on the weekends?
  • What time do you go to bed?
  • Where is your school?
  • Where is your house?
  • Where is your bank?
  • When do you eat lunch?
  • When do you eat dinner?
  • Where do you eat your meals?
  • Where do you like to study?
  • In what months are the important holidays in your country?
  • What year did you graduate elementary/secondary school?

Make sure the students are answering the questions with IN, ON, or AT. This works well in partners, and gives them a chance to practice the prepositions they just learned.

Conditionals Conversation Questions

Conditionals in English are one of the most difficult topics to learn. They are also very common in conversation, and therefore important for ESL learners to practice and master.
